VIOLATION OF PROVISIONS OF ACT
257.529 Transfer of registration.
Sec. 529.
This chapter shall not prevent the owner of a motor vehicle, the registration of which has been suspended hereunder, from effecting a bona fide transfer of such motor vehicle to another person whose rights or privileges are not suspended under this chapter nor prevent the registration of such motor vehicle by such transferee. This chapter shall not in anywise affect the rights of any conditional vendor, chattel mortgagee, or lessor of a motor vehicle registered in the name of another as owner who becomes subject to the provisions of this chapter.

257.530 Surrender of license and registration upon suspension or for lack of sufficient proof.
Sec. 530.
Any person whose license or registration shall have been suspended as herein provided, or whose policy of insurance or bond, when required under this chapter, shall have been cancelled or terminated, or who shall neglect to furnish other proof upon request of the secretary of state shall immediately return his license and registration to the secretary of state. If any person wilfully fails to return to the secretary of state the license or registration provided herein, the secretary of state shall forthwith direct any peace officer to secure possession thereof and to return the same to the secretary of state.
