SUMMARY OF SENATE BILL 598 as introduced 6-15-95:

 

The bill would amend the Child Custody Act to provide that, notwithstanding any other provision of law, a parent could not be denied access to records or information concerning his or her child because the parent was not the child’s custodial parent, unless the parent were prohibited from having access to the records or information by a protective order. “Records or information” would include, but not be limited to, medical, dental, and school records, and notification of meetings regarding the child’s education.
