Senate Bill 660 (as reported with amendments) Sponsor: Senator Walter H. North

Committee: Transportation and Tourism

CONTENT

The bill would amend the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act to provide that a person who used a snowmobile solely for transportation on the frozen surface of public waters for ice fishing, would be exempt from the requirement of purchasing and displaying a snowmobile trail permit sticker.

The Act provides that, in addition to registration of a snowmobile, a person who wants to operate a snowmobile in the State must purchase for $10 a Michigan snowmobile trail permit sticker. The permit is valid for one year, beginning on October 1.
