CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Department of Corrections (DOC) law to prohibit the Department from permitting a prisoner to change his or her name. The DOC would have to recognize a prisoner by the name of that prisoner at the time he or she came under the jurisdiction of the Department.

 

The bill would take effect on June 1, 1996.
