CONTENT

 

The bill would amend the Insurance Code to change a reference to a subsection relating to an exception to the requirement that a vehicle owner provide the Secretary of State with a copy of a certificate of automobile insurance when registering or renewing registration on the vehicle. That exception, which was added by Public Act 288 of 1995, involves the Secretary of State’s acceptance, as proof of vehicle insurance, of transmission of the vehicle identification number by a private insurance verification board.
