House Bill 5851 (as reported without amendment) Sponsor: Representative Terry London

House Committee: Transportation

Senate Committee: Transportation and Tourism

CONTENT

The bill would amend the Motor Bus Transportation Act to permit an applicant for a certificate of authority or renewal of a certificate to provide evidence of a current year motor bus inspection by a state, district, or province that had standards comparable to the Federal motor carrier safety periodic inspection standards, instead of an inspection by the Michigan Department of Transportation.

The Department would have to issue a list of the states, districts, or provinces that had standards comparable to standards promulgated under Federal motor carrier safety regulations.
