     May 21, 1997, Introduced by Reps. Tesanovich, Prusi, Anthony, Cropsey, Lowe and Bodem and referred to the Committee on Regulatory Affairs.


        A bill to authorize the department of state police to convey

   certain state owned property in Iron county; to prescribe condi-

   tions for the conveyance; and to provide for the disposition of

   revenue derived from the conveyance.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 1.  The department of state police, on behalf of the

 2    state, may convey to Iron county, for the consideration of $1.00,

 3    property located in the Bates township, Iron county, Michigan,

 4    and described as follows:

 5         A parcel of land lying in the N1/2 of the SW1/4 of Section

 6    22, Township 43 North, Range 34 West, described as follows:

 7         Commencing at the West quarter-corner of said Section 22,

 8    Township 43 North, Range 34 West; thence South 62 degrees 45'

 9    East a distance of 1128.54 feet to the point of beginning; thence

10    North 88 degrees 51' East a distance of 350.00 feet; thence South

 1    1 degree 09' East a distance of 400.00 feet to the North

 2    right-of-way line of U.S. 2; thence South 88 degrees 51' West

 3    along the North right-of-way line of U.S. 2 a distance of 350.00

 4    feet; thence North 1 degree 09' West a distance of 400.00 feet to

 5    the point of beginning.

 6         Sec. 2.  The conveyance authorized by this act shall be by

 7    quitclaim deed approved by the attorney general.

 8         Sec. 3.  The revenue received under this act shall be depos-

 9    ited in the state treasury and credited to the general fund.
