A bill to amend 1962 PA 192, entitled "Professional service corporation act," by amending section 4 (MCL 450.224), as amended by 1990 PA 166. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 4. (1) One or more licensed persons may organize under 2 this act to become a shareholder or shareholders of a profes- 3 sional corporation for pecuniary profit. 4 (2) Except as otherwise provided in subsection (3) or other- 5 wise prohibited, a professional corporation may render 1 or more 6 professional services, except that each shareholder must be a 7 licensed person in 1 or more of the professional services 8 rendered by the corporation. 9 (3)IfEXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS SECTION, IF 10 the professional corporation renders a professional service that 11 is included within the public health code,Act No. 368 of the02813'97 * FDD 2 1Public Acts of 1978, being sections 333.1101 to 333.25211 of the2Michigan Compiled Laws1978 PA 368, MCL 333.1101 TO 333.25211, 3 then all shareholders of the corporation shall be licensed or 4 legally authorized in this state to render the same professional 5 service. ONE OR MORE PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS LICENSED UNDER THE 6 PUBLIC HEALTH CODE, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.1101 TO 333.25211, MAY 7 ORGANIZE A PROFESSIONAL CORPORATION UNDER THIS ACT WITH 1 OR MORE 8 PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS LICENSED UNDER DIFFERENT PROVISIONS OF 9 THE PUBLIC HEALTH CODE, 1978 PA 368, MCL 333.1101 TO 333.25211. 10 (4) A licensed person of another jurisdiction may become an 11 officer, director, shareholder, employee, or agent of the corpo- 12 ration but shall not render any professional services in this 13 state until the person is licensed or otherwise legally autho- 14 rized to render the professional service in this state. 02813'97 * Final page.
