HOUSE BILL No. 5058

        A bill to authorize the department of natural resources to

   convey certain state owned property in Mackinac county; to pre-

   scribe conditions for the conveyance; and to provide for disposi-

   tion of the revenue derived from the conveyance.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 1.  The department of natural resources, on behalf of

 2    the state, may convey to the city of St. Ignace, for considera-

 3    tion of $1.00, certain real property under the jurisdiction of

 4    the department of natural resources and located in the city of

 5    St. Ignace, Mackinac county, Michigan, and more particularly

 6    described as:

 7         Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 of Block 2, Assessor's Plat

 8    No. 5, plus the adjoining dock known as the State ferry Dock or

 9    Dock No. 1, City of St. Ignace, Mackinac County, Michigan.

 1         Sec. 2.  The conveyance authorized by this act shall provide

 2    for all of the following:

 3         (a) That the property shall be used as part of an exchange

 4    for land on which a new boat launch facility will be built.

 5         (b) The department of natural resources reserves the right

 6    to approve the terms of the exchange.

 7         (c) Any difference in value between the exchanged parcels

 8    will be used by the city to construct a new boat launch with

 9    plans provided by the department of natural resources.

10         (d) The parcel shall revert back to the state with no

11    liability to the state if, for any reason, the boat launch is not

12    built.

13         Sec. 3.  The conveyance authorized by this act shall be by

14    quitclaim deed approved by the attorney general and shall reserve

15    to the state all rights to coal, oil, gas, and other nonmetallic

16    minerals found on, within, or under the conveyed property.

17         Sec. 4.  The revenue remaining after the construction of the

18    boat launch shall be deposited in the state treasury and credited

19    to the general fund.
