        A bill to amend 1978 PA 485, entitled

   "An act to permit the creation of a county officers compensation
   commission; and to prescribe the powers and duties of the commis-
   sion and other public officers,"

   (MCL 45.471 to 45.477) by amending the title and by adding sec-

   tion 6a.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1                                  TITLE

 2         An act to permit the creation of a county officers compensa-

 3    tion commission;  and  to prescribe the powers and duties of the

 4    commission and other public officers; AND TO PRESCRIBE PENALTIES

 5    AND PROVIDE REMEDIES.

 6         SEC. 6A.  A PETITION UNDER SECTION 6, INCLUDING THE CIRCULA-

 7    TION AND SIGNING OF THE PETITION, IS SUBJECT TO SECTION 488 OF

 8    THE MICHIGAN ELECTION LAW, 1954 PA 116, MCL 168.488.  A PERSON

 9    WHO VIOLATES A PROVISION OF THE MICHIGAN ELECTION LAW, 1954 PA
