A bill to amend 1939 PA 280, entitled "The social welfare act," by amending section 57h (MCL 400.57h), as added by 1995 PA 223. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 57h. (1) If the family independence agency determines 2 that a recipient's failure to pay the child care provider from 3 child care payments made to the recipient by the family indepen- 4 dence agency constitutes money mismanagement, future child care 5 payments shall be paid directly to the child care provider. 6 (2) IF A RECIPIENT IS ELIGIBLE FOR CHILD CARE SERVICES AND 7 REQUESTS REIMBURSEMENT FOR CHILD CARE IN AN UNREGISTERED CHILD 8 CARE SETTING, THE FAMILY INDEPENDENCE AGENCY SHALL PROVIDE REIM- 9 BURSEMENT FOR, OR MAKE DIRECT PAYMENTS UNDER SUBSECTION (1) TO 10 THE PROVIDER OF, CHILD CARE SERVICES IN THE UNREGISTERED HOME IF 02006'97 * CPD 2 1 THE HOME IS A PROVIDER OF RECORD UNDER SECTION 15(9) OF 1973 PA 2 116, MCL 722.115. 3 Enacting section 1.
