        A bill to amend 1994 PA 451, entitled

   "Natural resources and environmental protection act,"

   by amending section 43510 (MCL 324.43510), as added by 1995 PA

   57.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 43510.  (1) A person shall not carry or transport a

 2    firearm, slingshot, bow and arrow, or a trap while in any area

 3    frequented by wild animals unless that person has in his or her

 4    possession a license as required under this part.

 5         (2) THIS SECTION DOES NOT APPLY TO A PERSON WHO IS ENGAGED

 6    IN TARGET PRACTICE OR PRACTICE WITH SILHOUETTES, SKEET, OR TRAP

 7    FOR SPORT SHOOTING PRACTICE ON HIS OR HER OWN PROPERTY REGARDLESS

 8    OF WHETHER IT IS A SEASON THAT IS OPEN FOR THE TAKING OF GAME.
