A bill to authorize the department of natural resources to convey certain state owned property in Gladwin county; to pre- scribe conditions for the conveyance; and to provide for disposi- tion of the revenue from the conveyance. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 1. The department of natural resources, on behalf of 2 the state, may convey to the city of Gladwin, for consideration 3 of $1.00, certain parcels of real property under the jurisdiction 4 of the department of natural resources and located in Gladwin 5 county, Michigan, parcel 1 being located in Buckeye township and 6 parcels 2, 3, and 4 being located in Grout township, and further 7 described as follows: 8 PARCEL 1: SEC 7 18 1W NW 1/4 LYING SLY & WLY OF LINE 33 FT 9 WLY OF & = WITH CEN LINE OF RELOCATION OF OLD RIVER RD & W 1/2 OF 10 SW 1/4. 06153'98 DRM 2 1 PARCEL 2: SEC 12 18 2W SE 1/4 OF NE 1/4. 2 PARCEL 3: SEC 12 18 2W E 1/2 OF SE 1/4. 3 PARCEL 4: SEC 13 18 2W NE 1/4 OF NE 1/4. 4 Sec. 2. The conveyance authorized by this act shall provide 5 for both of the following: 6 (a) That the property shall be used exclusively for public 7 recreational purposes and shall be open to all residents of the 8 state on the same terms, fees, and conditions; and that upon ter- 9 mination of that use or use for any other purpose, the state may 10 reenter and repossess the property, terminating the grantee's 11 estate in the property. 12 (b) That if the grantee disputes the state's exercise of its 13 right of reentry and fails to promptly deliver possession of the 14 property to the state, the attorney general, on behalf of the 15 state, may bring an action to quiet title to, and regain posses- 16 sion of, the property. 17 Sec. 3. The descriptions of the parcels in section 1 are 18 approximate and for purposes of the conveyance are subject to 19 adjustment as the state administrative board or attorney general 20 considers necessary by survey or other legal description. 21 Sec. 4. The conveyance authorized by this act shall be by 22 quitclaim deed approved by the attorney general and shall convey 23 any rights held by the state to coal, oil, gas, and other miner- 24 als, found on or under the property conveyed. 25 Sec. 5. The revenue received under this act shall be depos- 26 ited in a restricted account held by the department of natural 27 resources. 06153'98
