A bill to amend 1893 PA 206, entitled "The general property tax act," by amending section 2a (MCL 211.2a), as amended by 1982 PA 539; and to repeal acts and parts of acts. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 2a. (1) For purposes of section 2, a mobile home 2 which is not covered by section 41 of Act No. 243 of the Public 3 Acts of 1959, being section 125.1041 of the Michigan Compiled 4 Laws, and while located on land otherwise assessable as real 5 property, under this act, and whether or not permanently 6 affixed to the soil, shall be THAT REAL PROPERTY, IS considered 7 real property and shall be assessed as part of the real property 8 upon which the mobile home is located. 9 (2) As used in this section, "mobile home" does not include 10 a travel trailer or camping trailer which THAT is either parked 04495'97 FDD 2 1 in a campground licensed by this state for not more than 180 days 2 in any calendar year, or parked upon private property, including 3 a designated storage area of a licensed campground, for the sole 4 purpose of storage. 5 (3) As used in this section, "mobile home" does not include 6 a truck camper which is parked in a campground licensed by this 7 state which THAT is a portable structure, designed and con- 8 structed to be loaded onto , or affixed to , the bed or chas- 9 sis of a truck, and which THAT is used to provide temporary 10 living quarters for recreational camping or travel. 11 (4) For purposes of this section: , the following defini- 12 tions shall apply: 13 (a) A travel trailer is "TRAVEL TRAILER" MEANS a vehicular 14 portable structure mounted on wheels and of THAT IS a size and 15 weight as THAT DOES not to require special highway movement 16 permits when drawn by a stock passenger automobile or when drawn 17 with a fifth wheel hitch mounted on a motor vehicle, and is pri- 18 marily designed, constructed, and used to provide temporary 19 living quarters for recreational camping or travel. 20 (b) A camping trailer is "CAMPING TRAILER" MEANS a vehicu- 21 lar portable temporary living quarters used for recreational 22 camping or travel and of THAT IS a size and weight as THAT 23 DOES not to require special highway movement permits when drawn 24 by a motor vehicle. 25 Enacting section 1. 1959 PA 243, MCL 125.1035 to 125.1043, 26 is repealed. 04495'97 Final page.
