A bill to amend 1927 PA 372, entitled "An act to regulate and license the selling, purchasing, possess- ing, and carrying of certain firearms and gas ejecting devices; to prohibit the buying, selling, or carrying of certain firearms and gas ejecting devices without a license; to provide for the forfeiture of firearms possessed in violation of this act; to provide immunity from civil liability under certain circum- stances; to prescribe the powers and duties of certain state and local agencies; and to repeal all acts and parts of acts incon- sistent with the provisions of this act," (MCL 28.421 to 28.434) by adding section 5a; and to repeal acts and parts of acts. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 SEC. 5A. (1) THE CONCEALED WEAPON LICENSING BOARD SHALL 2 MEET AT LEAST TWICE EACH MONTH AFTER 6 P.M. EACH MEETING AFTER 6 3 P.M. SHALL BE AT LEAST 4 HOURS LONG. THE CONCEALED WEAPON 4 LICENSING BOARD IS NOT REQUIRED TO MEET OR CONTINUE MEETING AFTER 5 6 P.M. IF THERE ARE NO APPLICATIONS PENDING BEFORE THE BOARD. 05753'98 * JOJ 2 1 (2) THE CONCEALED WEAPON LICENSING BOARD SHALL NOTIFY EACH 2 APPLICANT IN WRITING THAT HIS OR HER APPLICATION IS TO BE 3 CONSIDERED BY THE BOARD. THE NOTICE SHALL BE SENT BY FIRST-CLASS 4 MAIL TO THE APPLICANT'S LAST KNOWN ADDRESS NOT LESS THAN 7 DAYS 5 BEFORE THE MEETING AT WHICH THE APPLICATION IS TO BE CONSIDERED. 6 THE NOTICE SHALL SPECIFY THE TIME, PLACE, AND LOCATION FOR THE 7 MEETING. 8 (3) IN ADDITION TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF SUBSECTION (2), THE 9 CONCEALED WEAPON LICENSING BOARD SHALL POST A CONSPICUOUS NOTICE 10 IN AN AREA OF THE COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE ACCESSIBLE TO THE PUBLIC 11 PROVIDING AT LEAST 7 DAYS' NOTICE OF EACH MEETING OF THE BOARD. 12 THE NOTICE SHALL SPECIFY ALL APPLICATIONS THAT ARE TO BE CONSID- 13 ERED BY THE BOARD AT THAT MEETING. 14 (4) THE NOTICE REQUIREMENTS OF SUBSECTIONS (2) AND (3) DO 15 NOT APPLY TO AN APPLICATION UNDER SECTION 5B(14) FOR A TEMPORARY 16 LICENSE. 17 Enacting section 1. Section 12c of 1927 PA 372, MCL 18 28.432c, is repealed. 19 Enacting section 2. This amendatory act takes effect 20 January 1, 1999. 21 Enacting section 3.
