SENATE BILL NO. 1309

        the Committee on Appropriations.



        A bill to amend 1972 PA 382, entitled

   "Traxler-McCauley-Law-Bowman bingo act,"

   by amending section 8 (MCL 432.108), as amended by 1981 PA 229.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 8.  (1) All fees and revenue collected by the commis-

 2    sioner or bureau under this act shall be paid into the state lot-

 3    tery fund.  All necessary expenses incurred by the bureau in the

 4    administration and enforcement of this act and in the initiation,

 5    implementation, and ongoing operation of charity games shall be

 6    financed from the state lottery fund.  The amount of these neces-

 7    sary expenses shall not exceed the amount of revenues received

 8    from the sale of charity game tickets and all fees collected

 9    under this act.  , except that this limitation shall not
             apply

10     before October 1, 1983.  At  EXCEPT AS PROVIDED IN

11    SUBSECTION (2), AT the end of each fiscal year all money,

 1    including interest, in the state lottery fund  which
              THAT is

 2    attributable to fees and revenue collected  pursuant to
              UNDER

 3    this act but  which  THAT has not been expended
             pursuant to this

 4    section shall be deposited in the state general fund.

 5         (2) AT THE END OF EACH FISCAL YEAR, ALL MONEY, INCLUDING

 6    INTEREST, IN THE STATE LOTTERY FUND THAT IS ATTRIBUTABLE TO FEES

 7    AND REVENUE DERIVED FROM CHARITY GAMES, LESS THE NECESSARY

 8    EXPENSES INCURRED BY THE BUREAU IN THE INITIATION, IMPLEMENTA-

 9    TION, AND ONGOING OPERATION OF CHARITY GAMES, SHALL BE DEPOSITED

10    IN THE SCHOOL AID FUND ESTABLISHED IN SECTION 11 OF ARTICLE IX OF

11    THE STATE CONSTITUTION OF 1963.
