ADDENDUM TO SENATE FISCAL AGENCY ANALYSIS OF SB 911 DATED 9-11-00:

HOUSE COMMITTEE ACTION:

The House Appropriation Committee adopted a substitute that incorporates changes to Section 20 of the Horse Racing Law brought about by the enactment of Public Act 164 of 2000 (House Bill 5078). Among other things, P.A. 164 added American Paint horses to the list of horse breeds allowed to race in the state at fairs and licensed race meetings and provided that money from the Michigan Agriculture Equine Industry Development Fund (MAEIDF) supplement certain American Paint horse programs.

The Senate-passed version of Senate Bill 911 contained a provision to reduce the percentage of the MAEIDF required to be deposited into the Compulsive Gaming Prevention Fund from one-tenth of one percent to one-one hundredth of one percent. This provision would remain the same.
