A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4054 AS INTRODUCED 1-27-99


House Bill 4054 would amend the Michigan Election Law to specify that a legislative office is vacated before the expiration of a term when seven days has passed after a state senator or representative has been certified as having been elected to an office in the opposite chamber.


House Bill 4054 also would change all pronouns in the section in order to make reference to men and women, instead of only to men.
