A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4656 AS INTRODUCED 5-11-99


The bill would amend that statutory sentencing guidelines provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure to include the felony offense of performance of a procedure on a live infant with the intent to cause death which would be created by the Infant Protection Act (Senate Bill 546). A violation would be categorized as a Class A felony against a person, with a statutory maximum penalty of life in prison.
