A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4801 AS INTRODUCED 6-17-99



Currently, under Part 89 of the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (NREPA), "litter" is defined to mean "all rubbish, refuse, waste material, garbage, offal, paper, glass, cans, bottles, trash, debris, or other foreign substances." House Bill 4801 would extend the definition to include "cigarettes and cigarette butts."
