A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5012 AS INTRODUCED 10-19-99

House Bill 5012 would amend the Revised School Code to specify that before school begins each year, a school board (of a school district, local act school district, or intermediate school district) would have to require its teachers to provide verification that their teacher certifications are valid for the positions in which they are employed. Under the bill, service in a position requiring certification could not begin until verification was provided.
