A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5540 AS INTRODUCED 3-23-00

The bill would amend the Public Health Code to specify that continuing dental education programs offered in another state would be acceptable for credit if the program met certain criteria. To be acceptable for credit in Michigan, 1) a continuing dental education program would have to have received approval from the other state's dental licensing board or equivalent regulatory agency, and 2) the other state's dental licensing board or equivalent regulatory agency reciprocates by granting credit to its licensees for attending continuing dental education programs that are approved and offered in Michigan.
