A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5544 AS INTRODUCED 3-23-00

Currently, the Land Division Act defines "tract" to mean "2 or more parcels that share a common property line and are under the same ownership." The bill would add that "[t]he common property line [could] be the center line or boundary line of a road, street, or alley, if the person with jurisdiction over the road, street, or alley own[ed] an easement instead of the fee interest."
