A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6006 AS INTRODUCED 9-27-00

House Bill 6006 would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to eliminate the service fee requirement for Korean War veteran specialty license plates. Currently, both new and renewal applications for the Korean War veteran specialty registration plate are to be accompanied by payment of a $5 service fee. Likewise, each application for the specialty registration plate that is used on a passenger vehicle, and each application for a specialty registration plate made by a person who is disabled (and who is subsequently issued the tab for people with disabilities), must be accompanied by a $5 service fee. Under the bill, all of these $5 fees would be eliminated.
