A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILLS 6024 - 6026 AND 6099 AS INTRODUCED 9-28-00


The bills would prohibit the appointment of any elected village, city, township, and county official who resigned his or her position from being appointed, within one year of the resignation, to any position in the village, city, township, or county in which he or she served, if while in office the official had influence with respect to hiring. House Bill 6024 would amend the General Law Village Act (MCL 62.7a); House Bill 6025 would amend the Home Rule City Act (MCL 117.5j); House Bill 6026 would amend Public Act 156 of 1851 (MCL 46.13c), which defines the powers and duties of county boards of commissioners; and House Bill 6099 would amend an act regarding the powers and duties of townships, RS 16 of 1946 (MCL 41.59a).
