CONTENT
The bill would amend Chapter 16 of the Revised Statutes of 1846 (which governs the powers and duties of townships) to require a township supervisor, if present, to be the moderator of a regular or special meeting of the township board. If the supervisor were not present, the board, under the direction of the township clerk, would have to elect by voice vote a member of the board as moderator of the meeting. The township clerk would have the same powers and duties as the moderator until a moderator was chosen.
