CONTENT
The bill would amend Public Act 59 of 1935, which prescribes the powers and duties of the Michigan State Police, to repeal Section 6b of the Act. Section 6b allows the Director of the Department of State Police to recruit, equip, and train a special reserve statewide police force to serve as an auxiliary to the Department, and as a standby force for use during emergencies; and provides that police powers are to be extended to reserve officers only while they are in immediate association with regular officers of the Department, or performing police functions assigned by and supervised by the Department.
