A bill to authorize the department of natural resources to convey certain state owned property in Roscommon county; to pre- scribe conditions for the conveyance; and to provide for disposi- tion of the revenue from the conveyance. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 1. The department of natural resources, on behalf of 2 the state, may convey to the township of Gerrish, for considera- 3 tion of $1.00, property under the jurisdiction of the department 4 of natural resources and located in the township of Gerrish, 5 Roscommon county, Michigan, and further described as follows: 6 Lots 36 through 45, inclusive, of Block 9 of Sovereign Park; 7 Lots 48 and 49 of Block 8 of Sovereign Park; and Lots 35 and 36 8 of Block 10 of Sovereign Park. 9 Sec. 2. The description of the parcel in section 1 is 10 approximate and for purposes of the conveyance is subject to 03417'99 DRM 2 1 adjustment as determined to be necessary by the department of 2 natural resources or the attorney general. 3 Sec. 3. The conveyance authorized by this act shall provide 4 for both of the following: 5 (a) That the property shall be used exclusively for public 6 recreational purposes and that upon termination of that use or 7 use for any other purpose, the state may reenter and repossess 8 the property, terminating the grantee's estate in the property. 9 (b) That if the grantee disputes the state's exercise of its 10 right of reentry and fails to promptly deliver possession of the 11 property to the state, the attorney general, on behalf of the 12 state, may bring an action to quiet title to, and regain posses- 13 sion of, the property. 14 Sec. 4. The conveyance authorized by this act shall be by 15 quitclaim deed approved by the attorney general and shall convey 16 all rights held by the state to coal, oil, gas, and other miner- 17 als, excluding sand, gravel, clay, or other nonmetallic minerals 18 found on or under the property conveyed. 19 Sec. 5. The revenue received under this act shall be depos- 20 ited in the state treasury and credited to the general fund. 03417'99 Final page. DRM
