HOUSE BILL No. 5047


     October 26, 1999, Introduced by Reps. Rivet, Woodward, Schauer, Pestka and Lemmons
and referred to the Committee on House Oversight and Operations.


        A bill to create the strategic planning and accountability

   division in the office of the auditor general; and to prescribe

   its powers and duties.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 1.  (1) The strategic planning and accountability divi-

 2    sion is created in the office of the auditor general.

 3         (2) The strategic planning and accountability division is

 4    responsible for all of the following:

 5         (a) Staffing the quality government and accountability

 6    committee.

 7         (b) Submitting annual 1-year and 5-year operation plans of

 8    the auditor general to the quality government and accountability

 9    committee.

10         (c) Working with all state departments to develop strategic

11    plans for those departments.

 1         (d) Reviewing performance audit response reports and

 2    providing summaries of those reports to the quality government

 3    and accountability committee.

 4         Enacting section 1.  This act does not take effect unless

 5    all of the following bills of the 90th Legislature are enacted

 6    into law:

 7         (a) Senate Bill No. _______ or House Bill No. 5049

 9         (b) Senate Bill No. _______ or House Bill No. 5048
