HOUSE BILL No. 5048

and referred to the Committee on House Oversight and Operations.


        A bill to create the office of strategic planning in the

   executive branch; and to prescribe its powers and duties.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 1.  (1) The office of stratetic planning is created

 2    within the office of the governor.

 3         (2) The office of strategic planning is responsible for all

 4    of the following:

 5         (a) Overseeing the development of strategic plans for all

 6    state departments.

 7         (b) Creating and revising an enterprise-wide strategic plan

 8    and mission statement for this state.

 9         (c) Presenting all performance audit response reports to the

10    quality government and accountability committee.

 1         (d) Providing quarterly reports on performance audit

 2    responses and quality improvement efforts to the quality

 3    government and accountability committee.

 4         (e) Requiring and reviewing responses from departments to

 5    auditor general performance audits.

 6         Enacting section 1.  This act does not take effect unless

 7    all of the following bills of the 90th Legislature are enacted

 8    into law:

 9         (a) Senate Bill No. _______ or House Bill No. 5049
