A bill to amend 1961 PA 236, entitled "Revised judicature act of 1961," by amending section 931 (MCL 600.931), as amended by 1989 PA 100. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 931. (1) The fees required to be paid by each appli- 2 cant for admission to the bar shall be paid to the board of law 3 examiners, and shall be deposited in the general fund for the 4 restricted purpose of expenditures of the supreme court related 5 to the administration of the board of law examiners. The fees 6 shall not exceed the following amounts: BE SET ANNUALLY BY THE 7 SUPREME COURT AND SHALL NOT EXCEED THE COST REQUIRED TO ADMINIS- 8 TER THE ADMISSION EXAMINATION AND REEXAMINATION. THE AUDITOR 9 GENERAL, UNDER AUTHORITY OF SECTION 53 OF ARTICLE IV OF THE STATE 10 CONSTITUTION OF 1963, SHALL PERFORM A POSTAUDIT OF THE PROGRAM 03579'99 DRM 2 1 UTILIZING THE SAME POLICIES AND CRITERIA THAT ARE USED TO AUDIT 2 EXECUTIVE BRANCH AGENCIES. 3 (a) Applicants for examination, $175.00. 4 (b) Applicants for reexamination or recertification, 5 $100.00. 6 (c) Applicants for admission without examination, $400.00. 7 (d) Additional fee for late filing of application or trans- 8 fer of an application, $100.00. 9 (2) Each member of the board is entitled to receive compen- 10 sation for his or her services as are authorized by the supreme 11 court and appropriated by the legislature, and in addition the 12 actual and necessary expenses incurred in the discharge of his or 13 her duties as a member of the board. The expenses of the board 14 shall be paid upon certification by the supreme court pursuant to 15 the procedures established by the supreme court. 03579'99 Final page. DRM
