        A bill to require for certain inspections of septic

   systems.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec. 1.  As used in this act, "transfer" means a transfer of

 2    any interest in real estate that is subject to the seller disclo-

 3    sure act, 1993 PA 92, MCL 565.951 to 565.966, as provided in sec-

 4    tions 2 and 3 of the seller disclosure act, 1993 PA 92, MCL

 5    565.952 and 565.953.

 6         Sec. 2.  Residential property containing a septic system for

 7    the discharge of sewage or waste water shall not be transferred

 8    unless the transferor causes an inspection of the septic system

 9    to be conducted and provides to the prospective transferee a

10    written copy of the inspection report.  The written copy shall be

11    provided not later than the time prescribed for providing the

12    written disclosure statement under the seller disclosure act,
