A bill to provide certain advisories regarding the content of certain music performances; to regulate the operation of cer- tain music venues; and to prescribe penalties. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 1. (1) If a performer's recorded music will be per- 2 formed at a music venue and if, during the 5 years prior to the 3 date of the performance, the performer has released recorded 4 music containing a parental advisory label as to the content of 5 the recorded music, the owner or operator of the music venue, the 6 promoter of the performance, and other persons responsible for 7 organizing or advertising the performance shall comply with all 8 of the following: 9 (a) Tickets that are sold for the performance at the music 10 venue shall contain, in boldfaced print, the advisory that is 11 stated on the parental advisory label. 00063'99 * JCB 2 1 (b) Print advertisements for the performance at the music 2 venue shall contain, in boldfaced print, the advisory that is 3 stated on the parental advisory label. 4 (c) Television, radio, or other electronic advertisements 5 for the performance at the music venue shall contain the advisory 6 that is stated on the parental advisory label. If the advisory 7 is written, the notice shall be in boldfaced print. 8 (2) As used in this section, "music venue" means a commer- 9 cial venue where live music performances are held. 10 Sec. 2. A person who violates this act is guilty of a mis- 11 demeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 90 days or 12 a fine of not more than $5,000.00, or both. 13 Enacting section 1.
