SENATE BILL NO. 502


   April 14, 1999, Introduced by Senator HART and referred to the
        Committee on Health Policy.



        A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled

   "Public health code,"

   by amending section 21781 (MCL 333.21781) and by adding

   section 21723.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         SEC. 21723.  EACH NURSING HOME LICENSED UNDER THIS ARTICLE

 2    SHALL CONDUCT AN ANNUAL RESIDENT SATISFACTION SURVEY ON A FORM

 3    PROVIDED BY THE DEPARTMENT.

 4         Sec. 21781.  A licensee shall conspicuously post in an area

 5    of its offices accessible to  patients  RESIDENTS,
             employees, and

 6    visitors ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:

 7         (a) A current license.

 8         (b) A complete copy of the most recent inspection report of

 9    the nursing home received from the department.

 1         (c) A description, provided by the department, of complaint

 2    procedures established under this  act  ARTICLE and
             the name,

 3    address, and telephone number of a person authorized by the

 4    department to receive complaints.

 5         (d) A copy of a notice of a pending hearing or order per-

 6    taining to the nursing home issued by the department or a court

 7    under the authority of this article or rules promulgated under

 8    this article.

 9         (e) A complete list of materials available for public

10    inspection as required by section 21782.

11         (F) THE RESULTS OF THE ANNUAL RESIDENT SATISFACTION SURVEY

12    REQUIRED UNDER SECTION 21723.
