A joint resolution proposing an amendment to the state con-
stitution of 1963, by adding section 26 to article I, to recog-
nize a right to hunt and take game.
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the
state of Michigan, That the following amendment to the state con-
stitution of 1963, to recognize a right to hunt and take game, is
proposed, agreed to, and submitted to the people of the state:
1 ARTICLE I
2 SEC. 26. THE PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO HUNT AND TAKE GAME,
3 SUBJECT ONLY TO LICENSING REQUIREMENTS, HARVEST LIMITS, AND
4 RESTRICTIONS ON METHODS, SEASONS, TIMES, AND LOCATIONS OF HUNTING
5 AND TAKING THAT ARE PRESCRIBED BY LAW AND NECESSARY FOR PUBLIC
6 SAFETY OR THE CONSERVATION OR ENHANCEMENT OF THE NATURAL
7 RESOURCES OF THE STATE.

1 Resolved further, That the foregoing amendment shall be
2 submitted to the people of the state at the next general election
3 in the manner provided by law.
