ADDENDUM TO SENATE FISCAL AGENCY ANALYSIS OF SB 1 DATED 2-13-01:
HOUSE COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Senate Fiscal Agency analysis of the bill reflected the content of the bill as passed by the Senate, which defined "unidentified individual" to include, but not be limited to, an individual who could only be identified by his or her DNA (human deoxyribonucleic acid) profile. The House committee adopted a substitute for the bill to delete this definition, and to specify, instead, that "identified," (as that term applies to an individual), means the individual's legal name is known and he or she has been determined to be the source of the DNA.
