ADDENDUM TO SENATE FISCAL AGENCY ANALYSIS OF SB 1094 DATED 5-9-02:

HOUSE COMMITTEE ACTION:

The House Committee on Transportation adopted an amendment exempting "a vehicle engaged in construction activity" from the bill's prohibition on driving a vehicle with a front end loading device with a "tine" protruding parallel to the highway. As passed by the Senate, the bill only exempted a vehicle designed to be used or being used to transport agricultural commodities.

POSITIONS:

The Department of State Police supports the bill. (6-18-02)

The Michigan Waste Industry Association supports the bill. (6-18-02)
