Complete to 2-27-01

A REVISED SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4050 AS INTRODUCED 1-25-01

Public Act 235 of 1911 authorizes counties to provide a $300 burial allowance for veterans or their wives if the veteran or his wife had an estate not exceeding $25,000 ("over and above all encumbrances"). The bill would increase the burial allowance amount to $450, increase the allowable estate amount by $12,500 (that is, to $37,500), and would replace references to "wife" and "widow" with "spouse" and "surviving spouse", respectively.
