A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4624 AS INTRODUCED 4-19-01
House Bill 4624 would amend the Revised School Code to allow the board of a school district, or the board of directors of a public school academy (more customarily called a charter school), to operate a class in mathematics or science, or both, for students in grade 6, 7, or 8 that is limited to pupils of the same sex. The bill also specifies that if a single-sex class were offered, that same class with the same content would have to be available for students of the other sex.
