A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5087 AS INTRODUCED 9-25-01
House Bill 5087 would amend the Child Protection Law. Under the bill, a parent's or legal guardian's refusal to administer or consent to the administration of a psychotropic drug to his or her child would not be considered to be a failure to provide adequate medical care. Consequently, this refusal would not be considered to be "child neglect".
