A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5366 AS INTRODUCED 10-29-01
The bill would amend the Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Act to include a place of business that performs oil change and lubrication services within the definition of "motor vehicle repair facility".
The term currently applies to places that perform maintenance, diagnosis, vehicle body work, or repair service on a motor vehicle for compensation (with certain exclusions). The act requires registration of repair facilities with the state and contains requirements as to employee competency and facility practices.
