A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5566 AS INTRODUCED 1-22-02

House Bill 5566 would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to require that the secretary of state issue color-coded drivers licenses, depending on the age of the driver.

More specifically, the bill would require that the operator's or chauffeur's license be one of the following:

-in the case of a person less than 18 years of age, a red license;

-in the case of a person at least 18-years-old but less than 21, a yellow license; or,

-in the case of a person 21-years-old or older, a green license.
