A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5729 AS INTRODUCED 2-21-02

Under the Uniform Budgeting and Accounting Act, local governmental units are required to compile an annual financial report, and to file a copy with the state treasurer within six months after the end of the local unit's fiscal year. House Bill 5729 would amend this provision to specify that the treasurer could require this information to be submitted in electronic format, after timely notice. The bill would also delete a reference to a section of the former Municipal Finance Act.
