A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6056 AS INTRODUCED 5-9-02
House Bill 6056 would amend the Revised Judicature Act of 1961 to raise from $32 to $52 the fee for filing in small claims court an action in which the amount in controversy exceeds $1,750. Of each $52 filing fee, $2 would go to the Community Dispute Resolution Fund, $13.50 would go to the Michigan Judges Retirement System, $16.50 would go to the district control unit in which the action was commenced, and the balance would go to the State Court Fund. The bill would also update certain references to other acts.
