A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6231 AS INTRODUCED 6-27-02

House Bill 6231 would amend the Freedom of Information Act (MCL 15.243) to allow a public body to exempt from disclosure as a public record under the act an audio recording or "autopsy photograph" produced during an autopsy unless requested by a law enforcement agency for law enforcement purposes. "Autopsy photograph" would be defined as a image captured digitally or on film, including an image on videotape or in a motion picture, obtained during an autopsy.
