A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6261 AS INTRODUCED 8-13-02

Under the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act (Public Act 451 of 1994), a person is prohibited from hunting or discharging a firearm within 150 yards of an occupied building, dwelling, house, residence, cabin, barn, or other building used in connection with a farming operation without written permission from the owner, renter, or occupant of the property. The bill would, instead, prohibit a person from hunting or discharging a firearm within 150 yards of a building, dwelling, house, residence, cabin, or barn (regardless of whether it was occupied) without the written permission of the owner, renter, or occupant of the property.
