A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 6377 AS INTRODUCED 9-24-02

The bill would amend the Child Protection Law (Public Act 238 of 1975) to expand the definition of "child abuse" to include operating a vehicle in violation of Section 625(1)(b) of the Michigan Vehicle Code (Public Act 300 of 1939) with a child in the vehicle or with the intent to have a child in the vehicle. [Note: Under that section of the vehicle code, it is unlawful for a person with a bodily alcohol content of .10 grams or greater to operate a mote vehicle.]
