FY 2001-02 AGRICULTURE BUDGET - BOILERPLATE HIGHLIGHTS

Changes from FY 2001-02 Senate-Passed:
1. Hiring Freeze. The House added language exempting the Animal Industry Program from the State classified hiring freeze. (Sec. 205)
2. Buy Michigan. The House added language on "buy Michigan" in addition to "buy American" language. (Sec. 209)
3. Indemnification Payments. The House added language to provide for retroactive payments at 100% of fair market value up to $4,000 for animals destroyed between 01/01/98 and 10/31/00. (Sec. 212)
4. Budgetary Savings. The House added language requiring legislative transfers to apply the budgetary savings ($241,600) to the appropriate line items. (Sec. 220)
