CONTENT
The bill would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to require the Department of State, upon inquiry by an employer, to release information relating to an accident on a prospective employee's record, if the employee were applying for employment that required a commercial driver license.
Currently, the Department is prohibited from releasing information relating to an accident on a driver's record to a nongovernmental agency unless the driver was subsequently convicted of or determined responsible for a violation of the Code in connection with the accident.
