CONTENT


The bill would repeal Section 1a of Chapter IX (Judgment and Sentence) of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which provides that, when sentencing a defendant convicted of a felony, misdemeanor, or ordinance violation, the court must order the defendant to make full restitution to any victim. (That section contains essentially the same restitution provisions as those in the Crime Victim's Rights Act.)
